FAQs

The deadlines for applications are;

  • 1st December (for our Spring meeting)
  • 1st April (for our Summer meeting)
  • 1st August (for our Autumn meeting)

Awards are usually made within 4 months of the application deadline. Please bear this in mind and plan ahead.

We ask that all our applicants have been registered with either the Charity Commission for England & Wales, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, or the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland for a minimum of 12 months when they apply.

Yes, but there are additional criteria to be met, please see our additional application questionnaire here

Yes, you can apply as long as you are a UK-registered charity and meet the criteria provided here.

Yes, as long as they have been registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland for a minimum of 12 months and can meet our other requirements.

We aim to give feedback about applications within 10-12 weeks of the next application deadline (e.g. if you apply in October, the next application deadline is 1st December, so you should hear 10-12 weeks from the 1st December).

Applications are first reviewed by our Admin team to ensure they meet the criteria outlined here. Following this initial review, applications undergo a second level of scrutiny. Depending on their complexity, this may involve one or two Trustees or the full board.

Each application is assessed on its own merits, with Trustees paying close attention to the specific circumstances and work of the organisation. We encourage applications from smaller charities, provided they meet the established criteria.

We are a very small charity with two part-time Administrators. Sending hard copies of your accounts and applications cuts down on their workload and enables Trustees in rural areas with unreliable WiFi to give the appropriate level of scrutiny to each individual application.

Once you have received the donation from us, we ask you to follow these important steps:

*Confirmation Email:

Once the funds arrive in your account, we need you to send us a quick email to confirm. This confirmation is essential for our audit records and should clearly state, “Donation of £xx received.”

*Grant Monitoring Form:

It is essential that after using the grant donation, you complete and return the Grant Monitoring Form within six months (this will be emailed to you). This step is crucial for us to evaluate our funding efforts and ensure that we can continue helping charities in the future. Repeated failure to follow this process may affect your eligibility for future support.

*Promoting Our Organisation:

We would love to hear about the great things you’re doing with the grant money. We encourage you to include our grant donation and organisation in any newsletters, social media posts, website content, or other marketing materials. Sharing how this grant has impacted your work goes a long way, and if you have high-resolution photos to share, we’d love to feature them on our platforms (social media accounts coming soon!)

The 12 month restriction applies to the application deadline we used when assessing your application.

The deadline used for your application was 1st April, so you can apply for the 1st April deadline 12 months later.
