“May I, on behalf of the Nowzad team, say a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Trust. The 40 years of giving does indeed deserve celebrating”
The Nowzad Charity was originally formed to help soldiers rescue stray animals they had befriended whilst serving in Afghanistan. However, it soon became the charity’s main priority to help alleviate the suffering of the huge numbers of stray and abandoned animals in the war-torn country. To this end, in 2011 we opened the Nowzad Veterinary Clinic and Animal Rescue Shelter in Kabul. Suffering and disease (rabies is rife) is widespread. The clinic is constantly busy treating sick and injured animals. Humanely reducing the animal population and disease through neutering and vaccination is an extremely important part of our work
Throughout all of the challenges we have faced over the years The Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust has always been of huge support to us. We are extremely grateful for the vital funding we have received from the Trust.
