The Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust has been supporting Safe Haven for Donkeys’ services for working animals in the Palestinian Territories for many years.

Our mobile clinic treats donkeys, mules and horses (and even the occasional camel, cow or sheep) across the region, bringing free veterinary services to animals which would otherwise be left to suffer.  These clinics, and our permanent clinic in the Palestinian city of Nablus, are led by our wonderful vet Dr Rakan Salous.

The Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust’s latest grant helped to pay his salary and previous grants have paid for medicine, farrier work and even for Dr Rakan to provide additional training to veterinary students from the local university.
