Our Process

Donations are considered three times each year in Spring, Summer and Winter, by a panel of up to seven Trustees. Donations usually range from £1,000 to a normal maximum of £10,000. Larger donations may be considered by Trustees, on a case by case basis. Donations towards building projects, larger items of equipment, and vehicles often take the form of a pledge. Trustees and other contacts try to visit charities in their locality, when time allows, in order to view the work of applicants and to monitor the results of donations given.

JSAWT encourages supported charities to maintain contact, and we are pleased to receive updates on charities’ plans and activities.

Repeat applications from charities are encouraged, when further financial support might be given, if funds allow.

The deadlines for receipt of applications are as follows (Please bear in mind that awards are usually made within 4 months of the application deadline).

  • 1st December (for our Spring meeting) 

  • 1st April (for our Summer meeting) 

  • 1st August (for our Winter meeting)
